New Life Christian Community, a new evangelical Christian group that began holding Sunday church and mid-week prayer services at the Onoway Heritage Center in 2021, is planning to host a series of “Open House” get-togethers with the community beginning in January to give local residents an opportunity to find out more about the new church family, its ministry center, and its services and programs.

Beginning Tuesday, Jan. 18 at 7 pm, the church invites area residents to drop in for a casual and informal “no commitment required” 45-minute visit to meet NLCC’s pastor Rev. Kevin Henry and to learn more about upcoming worship and prayer events this year, as well as other available programs, such as New Life Counselling Services for individuals, couples, families, and special interest groups (e.g., addictions recovery, marriage counselling, personal counselling).

“We would love to have residents feel welcome to drop in anytime to our room (Room 4) at the Onoway Heritage Center for prayer, for a visit and a coffee, or for some personal counselling and support,” said Rev. Henry, who has pastored at Onoway-area churches since 2008. “It’s been a tough couple of years for many people, and some folks are really searching for deeper meaning and God’s peace in their lives as the pandemic and other economic stresses continue. We’d like to hear about your personal journey and how we could help you."

NLCC’s Open House events will be held the third Tuesday of each month in January (Jan. 18), February (Feb. 15), and March (March 15). For those interested in learning a bit more about the Bible and the Gospel of Jesus Christ, each “open house” drop-in event will end with a brief video presentation called "Reconciled to God," produced by the church.
